trompe l'oeil by: pupufcu
This is the name of this technique, trompe l'oeil. It is pretty hard to achieve this effect but once you do it, it's amazing. This is not one of the best effects ever gained, but its ok. I don't really enjoy the colours either.

Hi pupufcu - Thank you for your comments. You are correct that this mural does produce a trompe l'oeil effect, which is French for "fool the eye". It appears that you are looking out a window outlined in brick to the countryside. I am uncertain if Cheryl (the artist) intended to produce this effect. Cheryl, if you read this comment, let us know.
One thing I do want to note is that colors can vary significantly when viewed over a computer monitor. I work from two different computers, and I am always amazed at the difference between the two...
