The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Hey everyone!

Just before I graduation I took off a year to serve in Thailand as a voluntary student missionary. During my time there I had a unique opportunity to paint a 3 story wall mural on the 2nd coming of Jesus!

I originally didn't plan on painting a wall mural but when I saw this picture a Thai artist did 30 yrs ago hanging up in a house in Bangkok, I thought that it needed to be made available to the public. I pitched the idea to the mission leaders and it spread like a wild fire. After that things just fell in place. I wanted to stay as close to the original painting as possible although some composition alterations had to be made to fit the building layout.

It was really cool to learn about another cultures artform. Everything has meaning, the way they position the hands/body to the colors they use. This painting was painted in a way that the Thai people in the community could relate to. If I had painted a western version of the same thing I don't think it would of been as of effective.

Now that I am finished school I am currently working with my dad painting wall murals professionally. Eventually I plan to return to Asia and start up a non-profit organization that paints wall murals with young adults.

Thanks for reading!

Teachers should encourage students to read journals, assignments and articles. To gain maximum information they must develop their interest in reading useful and meaningful books. While reading by bestsdissertation service any article or journal students must note down important points.
